Juicy Chemistry YLANG YLANG, Lavender, Oatmeal Mask/Cleanser Review

Apr 4, 2019

Another review of Juicy Chemistry products. I recently reviewed another cleanser/mask from Juicy Chemistry - Black Rice and Lavender for oily skin. This time, it is a cleaner for normal skin. I like the ingredients of this one better. So, let's start.

Price: Rs 400 for 35grams. Rs 600 for 75 grams.

Ingredients: 99.28 % Of the total ingredients are from organic farming. 100% natural origin of the total.

Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Meal*, Sucrose*, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Seed*, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower*, Honey*, Olea Europaea (olive) oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Oil*, Prunus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil*, Lavandula angustifolia (Lavender) Oil*, Tocopherol, Cananga Odorata (Ylang Ylang) Oil*.

*Ingredient from Organic Farming.

Texture: It is mildly exfoliating.

Usage: It has oats and almond. So, I soak it up with rose water and let the oat and almond absorb it. This process makes the mix more binding as the oats turn gummy/gluey. I use it as a mask for a few minutes to let my face absorb the goodness and then wash it off. It washes off easily.

I like it a lot. Skin feels clean and fresh. The oats absorb excess sebum. The mask is not drying as it also has almond and olive oil along with honey. It does cleanse but I will not suggest this as a cleanser for the evening. (In the evening, you might have eye makeup/kajal. Even if you use this after your oil cleansing, you cannot use it near eyes. It won't be an effective cleanser if you miss parts of your skin.) It is more of a morning cleanser. So, I am not going to comment if it works for removing makeup.

Most of the ingredients are things that you can find in your kitchen. The discussion goes in two directions from here. You can say that I can make this at home for the price they are charging. I am going to say that I found something good that lets my lazy bones rest.

Overall: I enjoy this as a mask as well as a cleanser. It is also not something that I reach out to every single day. You get good ingredients - 100% natural origin, no fragrance, handmade, not tested on animals, and organic. I am not 100% sure if I will repurchase but, if you are looking for a natural cleanser for dry or sensitive or normal skin then go for this.

PS: In other news, I finally decided to try my hands on water coloring. I have never learned the trade from anywhere but there are so many nice accounts on Instagram that inspires you. I was not feeling well yesterday so, staying back and played with colors. I got the brustro 300gsm papers which are a dream to work with. I had the watercolor from camelin which are okay to start with. But, I need good brushes. Can someone please tell me a good store in Delhi? The ones I checked in Noida do not even know what a mop brush is!

PPS: Shared few on my instastory if you are interested.
