The Ordinary Haul

Let's start the month of love and my birthday month with a happy haul post. Shall we?

In case you are not aware, The Ordinary is a skincare brand selling chemical formulations in an affordable price range. The parent brand is Deciem. The Ordinary is available on several websites and even sold by Instagram sellers but I got mine directly from the parent website.

All the Ordinary products are free of parabens, sulphates, mineral oil, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone, animal oils, coal tar dyes, formaldehyde, mercury, oxybenzone. Their products are not tested on animals. So, not sold in mainland China.

I wanted to buy more but most of the things in my wish-list were out of stock. So, only these made to my home.

I purchased these The Ordinary products last year and them to someone the USA. There was some issue because of which the products were not delivered. I got a refund but I had to reorder. Unfortunately, the second parcel reached on the very day he boarded his flight and hence, I got them just a few weeks back when his friend was here in India.

You must have seen the other products that I got from the USA on my haul post.

  • The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23% +  HA Spheres 2% (5.80 $): This will be the first time trying Vitamin C and I am more than excited.
  • The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (5.90 $)
  • The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane (7.90 $)
  • The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Solution (5.30$)

There are two more things my order which I don't have yet - The Ordinary “Buffet” and Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution. I was waiting for them to reach me but I could not wait any longer. Moreover, I do not even know where they are. 😭

How to Shop from The Ordinary || The Ordinary Haul

Few pointers from my orders from The Ordinary.

1. Shipping is slow. Very slow. Maybe Nykaa and Amazon have ruined us but if something takes more than 3 days just to get shipped, it ain't fun.

2. The price is different for the USA and other countries. The price for India is almost 60-70% more than the price in the USA. For example, 100% Plant-Derived Squalane is 7.90 $ when shipping to the USA ie around Rs 560. when you change the country to India, it is 12.90 $ ie around Rs 920! I feel as if they are trying to dupe us! I did not like this one bit.

3. The shipping to India is free for orders over $250. But, there is a high chance of attracting customs charges which you shop over $50.

So, shop from them only when you have someone in the USA who can get it for you. Make sure that you ship at least three weeks before they are leaving for India other you will face what I faced.

Have you tried The Ordinary products? Now that they are here, I am not sure which product to start with. I am very content with my current skincare routine. Not sure, where to add these in my routine. Any suggestions?

  1. Love the Niacinamide serum ! You could use this right after toning and before using any heavier serum. It absorbs like magic and you don`t feel they additional layer you have added to your skincare regime. Best part is you can use it morning and evening (I`m kinda wary of using Vit C serums in the AM due to the risk of hyper-pigmentation if your sunscreen isn`t adequate. But no such worry with this one !) But it does take time to show results.

    1. Thanks for the help dear. I will try to start using the Niacinamide soon :)
