Skincare Specials - Anti Acne, Must Haves, & Luxury

Jan 11, 2019

Travelling again on train and here is another post you as there is nothing to disturb me now. :D

In my last post, I share my daily skincare routine. It features the most used products used daily. Do give it a read to know the whats and whys. But, skin needs something special now and then.

Here are few things that I love to used. Most of them have been in my life for a long time.

The Acne Fighters: I must have mentioned how toners are awesome to fight against acne. You need one especially if you live in polluted air. My favorite was La Roche Posay Astringent but it is no longer available easily. So, I got the Pixi Glow Tonic and I loved it. I will repurchase this if I can. If not, then I will get the Innisfree Bija Toner - good as toner but no micro-exfoliation like LRP or Pixi Glow Tonic. Have anyone tried the Dr Seth's Gulab Glyconic Toner? I am thinking of getting it.

The one the works well for spot treatments is La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo. You can also use it as a over all treatment if you have serious acne. I somehow always forget to use it but whenever I do, I get results.

But, one of the good product that works for acne prone is bentonite clay. Almost shows results overnight. Dries up acne from within overnight. Currently using Aztec Secrets Indian Healing Clay.

The Must Haves: Every bride goes for pre-wedding treatment, I just used FabIndia Charcoal Face Scrub. I trust this thing so much. I love it that much. It has charcoal so, brightens skin and deeply purifies. This works as scrub as well as mask. They have changed the packaging and so has is the formula. It is not as great as it used to be but still one of the best charcoal scrubs.

If the award for the most heavy duty scrub goes to The Body Shop Vitamin C Microdermabrasion. If you are in the mood for some hard core physical scrub then this is the one for you.

I have have been using face oils for almost four years now but when the dry winters of Delhi strikes, the only one to help is The Body Shop Vitamin E cream. It has Hyaluronic Acid and acts as a moisture barrier. It is light and yet works great.

The Specials - Luxury: Products that I love to use when I feel that I need to pamper my skin with some luxury. These works for my skin but I am not sure if I will repurchase.

The Body Shop Superfood Masks: I have four of these and I have also tried the Ethiopian Honey.

  • Himalayan Charcoal is clay with charcoal and green tea leave. I might even repurchase this if I get the chance because I like this one a lot. The only one which I recommend if you wish to try these.
  • Amazonian Acai Berry is jelly like with exfoliating seeds - gives a brighter and refreshing feel.
  • Japanese Matcha Tea could have more moisturizing but works well.
  • Chinese Ginseng and Rice
  • Ethiopian Honey is not as sticky as honey yet as moisturizing as honey.
Kiehl’s Cactus Flower & Tibetan Ginseng Hydrating Mist: I am still not sure why this works better than my Kama Rose Water. But, this feel so fancy so, I use it as a feel good product. I mean it has cactus? Just imagine the level of fancy here! Maybe I will see some great results if I use it regularly but I am too loyal to my Kama Rosewater

Forest Essentials Rasa Activating Serum and Tejal Balancing Water: Good product with good ingredients. I will recommend if you are ready to splurge but I might not repurchase.

Thar's all for today. I am about to reach my destination  :)
