I was dreaming about visiting them since I got to know about this couple of months back. Then, I forgot about it and spend my money somewhere else. Anyways, I could not say no to 'Stationery' to off I went there on Sunday afternoon - returned broke!
The fair majorly have four types of stalls
- Start-ups with notebooks, etc. with quirky prints. You will get things are all over Instagram plus something new. Should not be missed because you never know what you discover here.
- Major brands with paper products like Navneet. Go here with specific requirements. You might not get good looking products, but paper quality will be good here.
- Export houses who are here with some export reject and some nice stuff. The prices here are low but you have to check the paper quality.
- Stationery shops which sell imported goodies. You get the expensive-not-made-in-India products here. Some of those have cute made in China or Korea products.
Some of the stalls were not sold so, there are also some random chips and pickle shops. I ignored them all. 😑
My first store was - Anti Ordinary Page Co or Bunk Pages. Got the 'One in a Melon' A4 size clipboard (Rs 150), Beatles Notepad (Rs 150) and one small 'Hanji Hello' jotbook (Rs 50).
Second store - random store with loads of imported goodies. Got three tin boxes for Rs 100 each. I have no idea what I am going to do with them. Not very proud of myself but yes, I am happy 😉
I went to Navneet counter for A3 size clipboard (Rs 110). They showed me these new oil pastels and when I tried them at the store, could not say no - Youva Premium Oil Pastels 24 Colors (Rs 260).
Then I found this extra large adult coloring book. I have been planning to get one for ages, but I always think what if I don't color it all? I was even thinking about getting a random one from Dariyaganj Sunday market to try. This was for just Rs 150 so, I got this. The paper quality is not good and the blacks outlines leak colors. In fact, all the products in their store had good prints but not-so-good paper quality. When I asked them about the GSM, the sales assistant, was shocked - "No one asks about that! Everyone just wants beautiful prints." Happily, he later showed be 220 GSM paper set of 20 pages for Rs 50. I got one white and one colored set. Also, two notebooks for Rs 30.
Now, the creme de la creme - Peppy Basket - the kind of store what was sure to burn a big hole in my wallet. But, I controlled myself and got only things that I needed that I thought that I won't get elsewhere. I do not remember all the prices, but I paid Rs 1200 for all.

The not-so-interesting details: The 20th Stationery Fair is happening at Pragati Maidan till 2nd September. I went there by metro. Get down at Pragati Maidan metro station. The fair is at Hall number 7. There is free shuttle service from gate 1, 8, and 10. There is no entry fee.
The book fair is also happening there. I was engrossed in the stationery fair area so, skipped the book fair. Hubby got a second-hand encyclopedia for just Rs 100.
