Innisfree Hand Cream Review
Innisfree Hand Cream Review

I love to use body oils but there is one small problem. The body oils hardly come in travel-friendly bottles. So, I end up using creams and body butter. But, last month I tried something else for my body – Hand Creams 😄

TGI Fridays New Menu India
TGI Fridays New Menu India

TGI Friday’s recently launched their new menu #BornInTheUSA, and they invited me to try it. I have been to the TGI Fridays in Kolkata earlier. I went with my cousin and truth be told, it was one horrible experience. We had randomly tried food from the menu and found nothing memorable. So, this time I was skeptical about it. I also tagged along my cousin to judge it things had done in a better direction over the last year.

Maybelline The BLUSHED Nudes and The ROCK Nudes

Maybelline The Blushed Nudes and The Rock Nudes Review
Maybelline The Blushed Nudes and The Rock Nudes Eyeshadow Review

When you are new to eye makeup and wish to upgrade from smoked kohl, your best friend is budget eyeshadow palette. You have to know the colors that work best for you and suit your lifestyle. It is better to start with budget palettes and work your way up and buy the high-end brands in colors that your use the most. The singles are expensive and not always worth it unless you are absolutely sure that you will be getting the best use out of them. Unfortunately, three-four years back, there weren't options of budget palettes available. My favorite back them was Sleek Oh Soo Special and it stayed so for a very long time.

In 2015, Maybelline brought their Nude Palettes and I ditched all my other palettes. (I still use love budget palettes because I travel most of the time and I do not wish to misplace the expensive one while traveling.) I loved it so much that I asked my friend to get the other new variants from the US and I have been using them since August. Now that Maybelline has brought both the options in India, here are the swatches and my thoughts about the Maybelline The Blushed Nudes and The Rock Nudes.

Innisfree The Green Tea SEED OIL

Innisfree The Green Tea Seed Oil Review
Innisfree The Green Tea Seed Oil Review

I am back with another face oil. I know that I addicted to limits beyond control. It is actually a habit that I do not wish to control. It started with night oils. Then, for the lack of chemical free choices, I started using rosehip oil on days.

Yes, you read it right. I use oils even during the days. The light oils are easily absorbed and do not feel heavy but still stay moisturized. Becuase of the regular use of oil, my sebum glands and not as active as they used it because they no longer have to produce oil like maniacs. result? Less breakout, blackheads, and clogged pores.

I mostly used oil as day moisturizer - mostly when I stay at home all day or after I reach office. I try to use sunscreen only when I am out. Most of the times, I use a layer of oil under sunscreen.

Now, I have almost expertise on night facial oils. Day ones are still not easy to find. So, when I found this at the Innisfree store, I had to splurge.

Skincare and Makeup Favorites of 2016

Skincare, Beauty, Haircare, and Makeup Favorites of 2016
Skincare, Beauty, Haircare, and Makeup Favorites of 2016

This was long overdue. People often request me for good skincare products which are worth it, and I end up suggesting those same products over and over. I wanted to do a post with my favorites so next time someone asks me, I can just redirect them to this post. 😊

This year, because of traveling, change of water and food, plus disease, my skin changed its mind like a toddler with picky eating habits. My skin was dry to normal most of my life. It turned into an oily combination, and acne-prone when I moved to Kolkata a few years back. This year it majorly stayed normal combination. In the last few months, it also felt dry and normally most of the time. Maybe because of my use of oils, my oil producing glands are not as active as it used to be. #FingersCrossed Also, I lived most of the year in non-humid weather.

My skin is not highly sensitive, but it is sensitive as I get rashes if I try harsh products. That is one reason I stay away from parlor facials and products high on chemicals.

So, let's dig into my favorites

The Year That Was 2016

Jan 1, 2017

Happy New Year!

2016 was not a good year. The whole internet is filled with those 'start of 2016 Vs end of 2016 ' memes. Many things didn't work the way we expected, and more things went worse than we could have dreamt. I was a little bit skeptical about posting this yesterday. I wanted the year to die before this post went live. 😉

But, I just wanted to recollect all the good things that happened in 2016.

  • Sayed Yes to new. In general, I try to think a lot before taking a new step, but from the beginning of the year, I tried to say yes to new. The most impactful one was when my office inquired if I wanted to work in Ahmedabad and I said yes in one second. That decision came as a boon because I got to travel a lot for the same reason.
  • Traveled. ✈ I went to several places for the first time in my life like Daman, Silvassa, Rishikesh, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Bhopal, Sachi, Surat. I even discovered more areas in cities I have already visited like Colaba and Fort in Mumbai and Majnu Ka Tilla in Delhi. I ventured out a lot on my own as well. I even revisited Essel World and Water Kingdom on Christmas Eve (first time was in 2000!).
  • Tried adventure sport. 84 meters bungee jumping, 1 km flying fox, and 26 km river rafting all in one weekend. Another memorable one was to hike up a volcano in Bali in the moonlight. It was tough to say the very least. I had just recovered, and my body was not helping me climb up 1700 meters. I have already done scuba diving in Andamans and were short of time so, skipped that in Bali.
