Blue Nectar KUMKUMADI Radiance Glow Night Serum

Jul 9, 2016

You can keep me far away from face oils. Can you? I love to discover new brands that are made in India. So, here I have another formula of 'Kumkumadi' by a brand that you might not have heard about. It is Blue Nectar.

Blue Nectar products are formulated by Ayurvedic doctors, and the products are then improved by the feedback taken from guests of the Blue Terra Spa and Wellness. What made me feel good about the brand is that they just have a handful of products. That is a good way to start - less variety but more efficient products.

Price: Rs 895 for 10ml. This makes it one of the cheapest in the Indian market.

Available: At their online stores and other online retailers. They also have selected retail stores.

Texture: It is one of the lightest Kumkumadi I have used. It is similar to Iraya Kumkumadi. It is very light. It is absorbed quickly unless you too much. I feel three drops are good for entire face and neck when used over rose water. (Never forget your neck and never forget using rose water before applying face oils)

Fragrance: Similar to the saffron scent of Kama Ayurveda Kumkumadi but not as strong as that. I still won't say it smells good because Kumkumadi is never supposed to smell good since it is devoid of fragrances.

Ingredients: The packing mentions that it contains 26 vital herbs. One side of the packaging lists it as well. But, in the ingredients list, it only says little over half of it. Also, it skips a lot of ingredients the oils base, etc. When I talked to the brand, they informed me that they are in the process of updating the packaging, and the new packaging will contain the entire list of ingredients.

Effectiveness: Let's start with that I love about it. First of all, it is light. Almost like Rosehip seed oil. So, it is great to be used in summer and in this humid monsoon. It is absorbed quickly. I do not have to wake up with a greasy face. So, no concerns with pores anymore. My skin feels moisturised, soft, and soft in the morning. I cannot stop touching it.

It is natural and has never given me any pimples/acne. In fact, when I skipped it for a couple of days, I saw new pimples coming on my forehead. As my health is not 100% alright, I could not have expected anything else. I believe it is safe to say that it is preventing new one when I am using it regularly.

But, I do not see any accelerated action against marks. They are fading maybe a little quicker than they would have it left one their own. But, nothing that makes it fall in love with this Kumkumadi formula.

Overall: Blue Nectar is a nice face oil for use in summer. The price tag is far less than any other face oil available in the Indian market. It is preventing acne and taking care of my skin. It is a good maintenance oil if you have good or okay skin with random acne issue. But, if you have more skin issues like hyperpigmentation or marks, and you are ready to spend more than I won't recommend this. You can try Bipha Ayurveda Kumkumadi Thailam instead.
