Bipha Ayurveda Kumkumadi Thailam
Bipha Ayurveda Kumkumadi Thailam Review

Almost two weeks back, I started using face oils again. I wanted to start with Rosehip Oil again, but I wanted to try and review the Bipha Ayurveda Kumkumadi Thailam as well which has been with me since March. (I actually started used TBS Drops of Light serum but I needed something stronger to my skin. I have used it at times earlier. So, thought it would be a better choice. Also, it is a 'Kumkumadi Thailam' and you know I am always excited about them)

Kumkumadi Thailam Ingredients

What made me pick it up in the first place was the clear list of ingredients. They have stated the whole ingredients list along with the amount used. This is something that I highly appreciate when most brands do not even consider printing the ingredients. Even with the high price range and the absence of tester didn't bother me.

The glass bottle has a stopper, but it never worked. Maybe a faulty bottle. I always have to open the stopper and take out the oil from it directly. (I need to use a dropper from another bottle soon)

It is very much like Kama Kumkumadi oil in texture. It is on the heavier side, and the portion needs to be regulated. The absence of a dropper does make it hard to regulate the amount to be used. I have used it more at times and woke up with sticky oily skin around my T-zone.

That does not concern me much because I must tell you why I love it. It repairs skin like magic. I do not see much glow or brightness (my health won't support that either), but I do see that it heals quickly. As I was not using oils and my skincare routine was not exactly clockwork, I had some bumps on my forehead and random acne on cheeks. This bumps got flat in one day and started to disappear in three days. The marks left behind by pimples are faded, and the older ones disappeared. Even though I woke with oily skin, it never gave me a new acne. I faced no issues even around those days of the month when one or two usually appear on my skin. With daily use, I can see that my skin tone is even. But, I must add here that it does nothing for the pores, and I think they might have got bigger. Ouchy. Like all face oils, I used it after spraying some rose water on my face. But, for this, I also need to use an alcohol toner to save my pores from getting bigger.

Bipha Ayurveda Kumkumadi Thailam

  • Works for my skin. It repairs and heals. The difference can be observed in just one use.
  • It fades acne marks.
  • Evens out skin tone after weeks use. Those with uneven skin tone might need to use it for long to see visible results.
  • Does not irritates my sensitive skin.
  • Does not cause breakouts, acne or whiteheads.
  • The ingredients list is complete with all details about composition.
  • 100% natural formula taken from Ayurveda texts (Bhaishajya Ratnavali)

  • Price is too high. Rs 2340 for 10ml makes it the costliest oil in the market.
  • Availability is a big issue. But, they have started to retail it at online stores recently.
  • Packaging needs to be worked on. A dropper will be a welcoming change.

Ayurveda for Brighter Skin

Overall: Bipha Ayurveda Kumkumadi Thailam brought the changes that my skin needed. After being away from the face oil game for long, my skin required the pamper this gave me.

Do I love it? Absolutely.

Will I repurchase? Not sure. I am thinking of keeping it as a backup (like I used to do with Kama Kumkumadi so far) and use it only when my skin is not behaving well. But, I will finish it off during winters. I do not this the current weather (humid summer with rainy days in between) is the best time for a heavy face oil.

Do I recommend? No, if your skin is without issues. I do not think one not should pay that much for an everyday face oil. Especially when there are several options available these days. But, if your skin has issues and concerns, then please go for it. I think it will help you like it helped me.

Meanwhile, do read the Bipha Ayurveda Haul for the other products I got from them and their review.
