4 SUGAR Cosmetics Matte As Hell Crayon Lipstick Review, Swatches, Price

I first discovered Sugar Cosmetics when I found their wonderful eyeliner in FabBag. They are wonderful. I recently got my hands on their Matte As Hell Crayon Lipsticks and I am using nothing but these. Their pure matte formula, long staying power and one swipe pigmentation won my heart.

Sugar Cosmetics Hell Crayon lipsticks are available in 4 fabulous colors. They are highly pigmented and shows color in just one swipe. They transform into a powder matte formula on lips which is comfortable and stays long. Because of the formula, you can tone down or wear the color to full pigmentation.

SUGAR Cosmetics Matte As Hell Crayon Lipstick Scarlet O’Hara, Mary Poppins, Poison Ivy, Holly Golightly

Scarlet O’Hara is a Hollywood blue toned red. It is similar to Mac Ruby Woo but much more comfortable.

Mary Poppins is a purple toned bright pink. This is one of my favorite.

Poison Ivy is a marsala with slight shimmer. It is the most difficult color to work with as the color crumbles on my lips. I wear it over Mary Poppins to get a berry or wine shade.

Holly Golightly is a peachy n*de color. The color is lighter than the stick but there is no issue with the formula like Poison Ivy. This is another of my favorite and can be easy to go lip color for formal occasions.

  • Comfortable on lips
  • Beautiful powdery matte finish
  • High-pigmented colors can be used on dark pigmented lips
  • Long staying
  • Transfer-resistant formula
  • While most crayon these days are twist-up, this is not. It needs to be sharpened. Also, there is a loss of product while sharpening.
  • Available only in 4 colors. Luckily, the colors are run of the mill and I adore these shades but I would love to see more colors – oranges, rose pinks, browns and what not…

Overall – The market is flooded with crayon lipsticks. I am not their fans but these Sugar Matte As Hell made me think otherwise. Sugar Cosmetics Matte As Hell are comfortable, long staying, pure powdery matte, pigmented and transfer resistant. There is nothing to dislike here. If matte lip colors are your thing then these will rock your boat. These seem like comfortable and affordable dupes of MAC retro matte formula lipsticks. I would love to see more shades in Sugar Cosmetics lip crayons.

Recommended - Scarlet O’Hara, Marry Poppins, Holly Golightly.

Not Recommended – Poison Ivy (It is good shade but the formula does not keep up its family’s standards)

PS – Sugar Cosmetics sent  samples in exchange of my honest review.
