Forest Essentials Facial Ubtan Narangi & Nagkesar Review
Forest Essentials Facial Ubtan Narangi & Nagkesar Review
Forest Essentials products are not the cheapest brand in the market, and you just cannot pick everything from there. Unfortunately, I had to pick few things randomly when I had to reach the bill to Rs 5K to get the pink gift box. Luckily, this Narangi & Nagkesar Facial Ubtan turned out to be a multi-action product.

I had my eyes on FE Madhulika Nourishing Honey Lep. When I checked the ingredients, I found that is a mix of honey and majorly orange powder. Then, I found this which along with orange had Nag Kesar, Khus, Neem and other potent herbs. So, I picked it up because it has more possibilities as compared to the honey lep (face mask). Also, this is priced half of the honey lep.

Forest Essentials Facial Ubtan Narangi & Nagkesar Review

Price – Rs 695 for 60g

Texture - 100% natural and contains dried ingredients. The powder is not completely fine and has slightly coarse texture which makes it a good exfoliator and cleanser. When I use it as a mask, I make a runny paste and let it sit to make the ingredients absorb the water.

Packaging – Plastic tub with gold screw-in cap. It also has a white separator to make it airtight to keep the ingredients safe. I still do not trust it much so, keep the tub outside my bathroom.

Fragrance – No added fragrance. The presence of orange peel, marigold, and other herbs gives it a distinct energizing citrus aroma. It can come as strong for highly sensitive noses.

Experience – I like the ubtan primarily because of the number of possibilities it provides. I multi-use product is always cost effective. Depending on the time I have on hand, I use it as follows-
  • As a face mask along with honey (my attempt of Madhulika Nourishing Honey Lep dupe) or with rose water.
  • As a face cleanser (like Kama Ayurveda Mridul
  • Apply as face mask first, let it dry completely and then scrub it off as exfoliator
Forest Essentials Narangi & Nagkesar takes its time to work. I saw no difference when I used for first 2-3 times. But, now, it works. It brightens skin and makes it feel fresh. FE ubtan’s orange citrus smell adds to claiming and cooling nature of the ubtan. I have also noticed that it washes off completely, removes oil and does not dries out skin. The powder is gentle enough to be used every day.

Forest Essentials Facial Ubtan Narangi & Nagkesar Review

Overall - The facial ubtan from FE is as good it claims to be. It does make my skin soft, make it feel fresh and brightens my skin. The brightening part is not long lasting, but maybe daily use will give better results. This is not a cheap product, but this is one of the low priced products from Forest Essentials. Also, the impressive ingredients list justifies it (almost). You can do a simple besan-turmeric ubtan at home, but you cannot make a DIY of this at home. Not that the basic ubtan works any less but FE ubtan has better ingredients to tackle oily and acne prone skin. A multi-use product with a pleasant smell that cleanses and brightens skin gets my full recommendation. Next time, you are shopping at Forest Essentials, you must try this orange facial ubtan.
