Forest Essentials Cleansing Shower Butter Nargis Review |
Forest Essentials Cleansing Shower Butter Nargis has to be the most-unique bath product that I tried in recent times. It is one those mysterious products that intrigued me. It really took me some time to get the hang of the same. But, now, I have demystified this.
What is Cleansing Shower Butter? In layman’s terms, it is a low-foaming thick shower cream with added moisturizer. It is low foaming and I am yet to identify the ingredient in the ingredient’s list which is responsible for foaming. Has they branded it as a ‘shower cream’, I would have told you to stay away from this. But, they say it is a ‘cleansing butter’.
Does it cleanses? Surprisingly (maybe because of the butter & oils), it cleans skin. The product washes off easily and does not leave behind any greasiness, dirt or oil. A teaspoon is enough for the entire body. I apply it on wet skin, massage it a bit and then add some water to foam it up.
Does it moisturize? It is 40% organic butter (shea and kokum). In the greed for more foam, I have tried to use more at times but that results in drier skin. Hence, I stick with the one teaspoon policy now. Now, I can skip moisturizers at times.
Packaging – It comes in a plastic tub with a screw lid. But, it does seep out a bit as it does not have any lid inside. I do not like tub packaging and I fear that one day some water might get inside it and destroy the product. I take out all the amount I need in one go because I also find it unhygienic to dip my fingers into. Initially, I used to keep it out of bathroom. I used to take a spoonful with me when going for a bath.
Fragrance - Cleansing Shower Butter by Forest Essentials is available only in one variant – Nargis. Nargis is the Hindi name for a variant of Daffodil. I do not know how to describe the smell. All I can say it, it is light and sweetish floral. The smell does transfers to skin but does not last long. I really wish that I had something to layer up the fragrance. The smell is relaxing and I use it only for night-time shower.
Worth the price? The price is Rs 1350 for 200g is exorbitant for a creamy body wash but then it is something different. I look at it as a luxury item and would recommend buying it only if you are in the mood to splurge. If you really liked the smell, wish it get a bath product from the range but do not wish to spend then go for their luxury sugar soap.
