5 Most Recommended Skincare of 2014

Happy New Year! I am sure the new year will bring lot of happiness.

For the first post of this year, I wanted something special so, thought of sharing my favorite skincare products that I have recommended to most people. I took some time and finally decided the top 5. It was tough to leave out some but, these scores better than the others.

Forever 21 Boston Terrier Pouch

Kama Ayurveda Kumkumadi Miraculous Beauty Fluid (Rs 1350 for 12 ml) - I have lost count of the number of people I have recommended this! I love it. I love how it works for my skin. This is my best skincare discovery of 2014. Cherry on top - 100% natural! I am on my second bottle and already purchased my third! The people at Kama do not recommend this for oily skin and prescribes the night cream but here is what I suggest - If you have oily skin - just use a drop or two and dab on the sides of your face before your apply on T-Zone. If you have normal or dry then you can use more.

Just Herbs Silkplash Rehydrant Face Wash (Rs 245 for 100ml) - I purchased this last year but started using it religiously this year. It is gentle, 98.2% natural, made of organic ingredients, suitable for all skin types and non-drying face wash. The only other natural and gentle (yet effective) face cleanser that I discovered was Kama Ayurveda Rose Jasmine Cleanser but Kama one is priced double of Just Herbs.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Astringent Lotion (Rs 1190 for 200ml) - It took be some discipline to start on toners. This is the first toner that I used religiously and I started seeing effects within a week. I enjoyed it a lot. It works against troubled skin and effectively reduces frequency of new acne. When it got over, I could not find it anymore and purchased Vichy Normaderm Purifying Pore Tightening Lotion (Rs 990 for 200ml). I have not tried The Body Shop Tea Tree toner (Rs 795 for 250ml) also have similar ingredients. I have equally recommend these three to people have trouble with recurring acne but La Roche Posay remains my first choice.

Sadly, it is tough of find these days. If you try any of these toners, try to give them at least a week of disciplined to show results. Currently, I am using oilcraft face mists as toners this winter and will go back to them in summer.

Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream (Rs 775 for 125g) - This is raved by many and I finally found it this year. I have seen it work on red rashes to cystic acne. It is multipurpose product and you must keep one tub with you all the time! I mentioned it in the new favorite discoveries and skincare that work effectively against acne.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock with Helioplex SPF 50 (Rs 499 for 88 ml and Rs 150 for 30ml) - I know many swears by this sunscreen. Actually, this one still surprises me. I used it back in 2009 and it was a super big fail. But, when I tried it again in 2014, I loved it so much that I repurchased it the day it got over.
