Addicted to Tub-o'-Butter of The Body Butters

Nov 9, 2013

This was a anonymous meet. After everyone has spoken, she got up from chair and said – “I am Shayoni and yes, I am addicted to The Body Shop Body Butters.

It started with one harmless looking tub of The Body Shop Shea Butter Body Butter but I never thought that I will reach to this level where I cannot see any other suitable moisturizer for body. For three years now, I have used them back to back.

I never saw myself at this step – the 1st stage of Addiction – Denial. *sips water from the glass on the table* I tried different variant each time and never went back to the same one.

Then I went to the 2nd stage of Addiction – Anger. Luckily, this was short lived stage. I was here for an hour max when I realized how much I have spent on skincare and specially on body butters.

The 3rd stage kicked in – Grief. Another short lived stage – I could have done something else with this money. But what? Nothing is better for my skin than these *a tiny tear rolls down her left cheek*

The 4th stage followed – Bargaining. This is the level which was in for a long long time. I try to buy the Body Shop Body Butters only when I find them on offers. I have a membership card so, I always get 10% off but I made sure to buy when the offers were more. I had to The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle in full price as there were no offers and I could not miss on this as it was limited edition!

Yesterday night, when I was prepping for sleep – reading a book and apply The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Body Butter, I realized that yes, I am addicted. I accept this and now, I am at the 5th stage – Acceptance.

Gingerbread Man Tub - The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Body Butter (Limited Edition)

Peach Tub - The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Body Butter

Smaller Yellow Tub - The Body Shop Spiced Vanilla Body Butter (Limited Edition)

Purple Tub - The Body Shop Passion Fruit Body Butter

The last bottom one - The Body Shop Coconut Body Butter

Now, I accept but do I need to change? HELL NO!!! *all the listener stopped breathing. Few could not believe what she was saying and closed their eyes with grief, slightly nodding sideways*

Yes, I do not want want to change! These are great and these are great! *make bigger eyes and smiles* And you should try some for sure!” *gets down the platform whistling. Walks out of the room whistling*

Dear Reader,

Now, let me summarize why I really love them -

1. Comes in loads of variants for each skin types. Just to keep things fresh, they even launch limited edition ones which are worth trying. Every winter, they bring in 2-3 new limited edition variants.

2. Last long. Like really really long. You might even get bored of them by the time they are about to get over. I switch between the different types to keep my love going on for them.

3. They are thick but absorbs quickly. The only thing that is as thick as these and absorbs quickly is the Palmer Coco Body Butter that comes in a tub. But that is bit more balmy and suitable as a comfort cream in for dry skin in extreme dry condition.  Not everyone can enjoy that!

4. For the upcoming winters, you might want to get one to pamper yourself. If you have very very very dry skin then you might get the Palmer tub. Luckily, Palmer is easily available these days in India.

5. They are expensive and there is no doubt in that. So, keep your eyes peeled for offers going on in their stores. You might get one at 50% off as well.

My next body butter will probably be Raspberry, Honeymania (when they come to India!) and Satsuma (next summer and after I finish my Passionfruit - whichever is later). So, I will surely watch out for them.
