Why I Love Revlon Colorstay Whipped Cream Makeup 24Hrs with SPF 20 ( 320 Warm Goldnen Review )

Mar 30, 2013

First let do a quiz for your personality

What comes to your mind when you read Whipped Cream?
A. Makeup product by Revlon
B. Something for dessert
C. Something that you will like to use while love making. Most cliche food item for that BTW.
(Note your answer. Results in the end)

----

I am not a foundation person. My daily life does not even give me the liberty to use foundation so, I do not even but them. But I need to have them in case any emergency pops up. So, I had just one  with me. Lucky of me the shade was my exact shade so, I never had to go around searching for my ONE. But then Revlon lauched the Colorstay range and I could not stop myself. The other launched so far had shimmer or something to scare me away but this little tub seemed friendly. I always wished to get a mouse kinda thing and this fits.

Mar 28, 2013

Here is how I wear nail art stickers. The one showed here is L'Oreal Python.

Excuse my yellow nails. Thanks to the straining caused by Revlon Sassy. From now on, I will keep distance from all Revlon greens. Forest Green also strained my nails.

MAC Charmed I'm Sure, Deeply Adored, Love Goddess Swatches (Marilyn Monroe Lipsticks)

Mar 27, 2013

I might be last person on the planet to swatch them!

First Reason for Delay - India is the last one to receive the MAC collections. Read January for Marilyn Collection.

Second Reason for Delay - I only had two lipsticks with me. I was about to review but realized that Mr.Boy has got for me the 3rd one I need. He send me that in the mid of Feb.

Third Reason for Delay - I am super lazy. And yet I do not settle until I get the perfect shot I need. So, the lip sticks swatched were never good for me.

But, today I am posting them - no matter what!

And I Won Colorbar True Gloss Fresh Pink and Coral Craving ( Swatch Included )

Mar 26, 2013

Last year in August, Colorbar did a 'Lips Don't Lie' Contest. You have to try any lipstick from the store and kiss on a paper.  Luckily, I was in Delhi at that time and Colorbar being my favorite Indian Makeup Brand, I went to their Saket stand alone store. I thought whats the harm in trying? I used Obsessed Orange and Lip Smacking Cherry. And as a obedient blogger, clicked a picture *wink*.

Burt's Bees Orange Extract Facial Cleanser with Orange Oil Review Photos Swatch

Love Oranges? Same here. High Five.

But, considering that it's summer now, luckily I have this cleanser which looks and smells like orange jam. And on top of it, Oranges are great for skin.

I got Burt's Bees Orange Extract Facial Cleanser with Orange Oil from Sephora India this January. I am not a face wash person but Burt's Bee face washes attracted me. Then, I found this and skipped the face wash.  Even the SA suggested this one.

What attracted me most about this is the ingredients list. Just 12 ingredients and all natural. I trust Burt's Bee and hence, they have it mentioned - 100% Natural

Ingredients - Vegetable Glycerin, Olive Oil, Orange Oil, Oat Flour, Lanolin, Oat Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Vegetable Oil & Beta-carotene, Tocopheral (Vitamin E), Quillaja Extract (*see product details), Rosemary Leaf Oil

*(from ingredient list) Quillaja is derived from the Chilean endemic tree Quillaha saponaria. It is used as a natural soap, cleanser, and foaming agent and contains antioxidants and proteins.

What I Did In Kitchen on Sunday

Mar 17, 2013

If you opened this expecting to see a great recipe cooked by your beloved blogger then, I am sorry for misguiding dear.

Thing I did was - I cut my soaps - FINALLY....

The main reason you should always cut herbal /natural soaps is because most of them do not have preservatives or mild preservative. If you keep the whole bar in shower then it might get infected. Plus, the smell won't last longer and the ingredients won't be effective anymore as they are mild in action.

1. Cut them in different shapes to make it more fun in the shower.

Read ahead to see how I organized my soaps.

New Product - Deborah Milano 24 Ore Perfect Eye Primer Smoothing Eye Shadow Base Review

Ever got stuck with a eye shadow which has the perfect color of your choice but have no pigmentation or massive fall out? I know you have and to solve that you need a eye primer.

Now, the choices in Indian markets are not huge. Plus, the ones available are either
  • come in tubs which I feel is super unhygienic for anything that is for your EYE
  • have a massive price tag attached that not everyone can buy
  • has a color of its own which I dislike a lot

So, I never owned any any primers. Until 2 weeks back, I found this little black tube

"Hey, Meet me. I am the new eye primer from DM."

(curiously) "Okkkayyy but do you sit inside a tub?"

"No, I love my tube body."

(doubtful) "Then, you might be expensive?"

"No,  just 495 INR for 8ml."

"Just 8ml? Then you will leave me soon..."

"I am very light and do not have color. So, you do not have to cover our lids with me. You will need a very very very little amount for each time"

(excited) "So, you mean to say that you do not exist in just one shade which might not suit me or most people?"

"Nah Darling. I am transparent."

(uncontrolled excitement) "Yeahhhh, come home with me
Dorah Milano 24 Ore Perfect Eye Primer Smoothing Eyeshadow Base"

Shopping Experience at Soulflower.Biz [Indian Natural Soap, Bath Salts, Essential Oils, Etc Website]

Mar 15, 2013

Those of you who are not aware - Soulflower is a brand in India which offers 100% natural products with no artificial ingredients. They have soaps (all around 250 INR each), massage oil, bath salts, essential oils and the like. The products are found at their website and also at Shoppers Stop.

So far, organic/herbal only meant buying from Khadi or FabIndia. Spending more than a hundred bucks for a organic shop sounds stupid. Soulflower was hence ignored by me all the time. But, I needed to move away from my TBS Rainforest shampoo and try other cheaper alternative for SLS free shampoo. From my list of SLS Shampoo in India, I had 2 soaps from Soulflower suitable for me. The soaps at soulflower are around 250 each. So, when I found them running a women's day offer - All soaps at flat 149 INR - I could not resist.

Guess Who Won the Fragrance of the Year by Cosmo India?

Mar 14, 2013

I was a person who was happy with deodorant. I mean you spend just 100-150 INR, smell good, throw it away when you get bored and buy something new. Then, something happened. In 2011, one of my flatmates in Gurgaon showed me the world of perfume. She showed me her cabinet one day and I could not believe my eyes - the best perfumes from the best brands - you name it and she had it. Slowly she made me realize how great perfumes are. I used to get confused when I go to store. ( I still get confused! ) Also, the perfume SA in India was of the pushy variety  So, she said I can try her perfumes and see which one would suit me. I could not try all (would have been creepy) but I always had my eyes on this one. Even before knowing the world of perfumes, I knew who was the queen - Dior J'Adore.

I tried it and I could not believe the staying power on me. Nothing has ever lasted this long. Maybe because I never had used perfume from high-end brands but I was sold. After that, I have lost counts on how many times I decided to buy this but changed my mind, felt bad for not buying and again planned to buy it. In general, if I see something and like it, I bring it home with me. The price was not that scared me but I am not sure till now why I never got it. This went on for more than a year. Again last year, my favorite boss was wearing this and I could actually pin-point it. She also had a great taste in perfume BTW. The incident encouraged me more to get it but again I could not buy. Don't know why?

Now, Mr Boy came to know about this 'mental-issue' of mine. So, not to make him worry (yes, he feels that something is bothering me if I am not shopping so, he gets tensed with what is wrong with me), I told him I will buy it duty-free because its will be 100% original and also, low price. Maybe the international part got into his brain and hence, he got me this from Istanbul for 100 Euros. Yes, it turned out to be almost as costly as its priced in India but I cannot stop loving him for the cuteness he showed. (Mr Boy - In case you are reading this then close this page right now!)

I was not comfortable about talking all this here but then ....

Thanks Dear
(Mr Boy - Why haven't you closed the page yet?)

Amish's Book Signing Event for 'The Oath of the Vayuputras' in Kolkata

I read a lot (LOT). I never buy paper books because I get ebooks for my Kindle. But still I visit book stores just to see what's new. There are online forums but then in store I get to read few pages before I can decide. Today, when I went to Starmark, I found Amish there, giving an interview for the new release which after a lot of drama, dreams and delays is out in the market now -
the FINAL book from The Shiva's Triology  - The Oath of the Vayuputras.

Who Let the SHEEPS Out? (Simple Easy Nail Art)

Mar 5, 2013

This Sunday, Deepa visited my home to help me with a video which is pending for a month now! But the weather and mood was not great for a video and I ended up doing nail art for her. I took pictures indoor and I am never happy with my indoor photography. In a very very very tired state, I made the exact design for myseld. But, when I woke up I realized, a sheep was missing his/her eye and another had a bad accident which made a deep cut though his stomach (Mental note - never sleep directly after you apply top coat. If very tired then skip it and do it next thing in the morning! )

When I went to office, everyone liked it because it was so colorful. Things in Office are bad and sad. Everyone is gloomy so, different color cheered everyone. Then someone said - "Where is the black sheep? There is always one crazy one in the family."
So, last night, I took off everything - blind face, wounded body - and changed the colors to make this. The first nail art of my life which I did 3 times in a row! 3 times!!! In a row!!!!

"Baa Baa Black Sheep, have you any wool?"

And its totally fine if you don't have coz its super crazy summer here already!!
