POPCORN!! Yes, Popcorn for Skin in Lush Let The Good Times Roll Cleanser for Holiday 2012

Jan 3, 2013

I LOOOOOOOVE Popcorn!! Love. I even made my mom, dad, boy and even grandma addicted to it so, you can image my craziness for that. In fact, I love anything with corn! So, when I saw these in Lush website, I had to get this.

What is this ‘Lush Let the Good Times Roll’? It is a Limited edition cleanser from Lush made of corn and essential oil and contain bits of popcorn for exfoliation. The 1-2 full sized ones are just added on top. Ohhh Lushhhhh

From Lush UK website -

Fresh Cleanser A Maize In, gentle facial wash

We popped corn oil, polenta, maize flour and cinnamon in here. The perfect recipe to gently exfoliate, moisturise and soften your skin for those times when you want to get ready for close-ups.

Let The Good Times Roll is a gentle treat for the skin, leaving you soft to the touch with a lingering buttery caramel popcorn fragrance – when you look and feel this good you can give your Body Double the day off!

The ingredients are Maize flour, Glycerine, Talc, Water, Corn oil, Polenta, Fair Trade Organic Cinnamon Powder, Perfume, Gardenia Extract, and Popcorn.

The first thing that might attract you is the popcorn on top but then they are just for show. The second thing is the smell. It’s warm a bit of caramel, some cinnamon, but I could not smell popcorn!

A pea size amount is enough for your whole face. Like all Lush cleanser, you have to add water to make a paste of required consistency.

The texture is bit granular but they are not at all harsh but cushiony – apt for winters. Only the popcorn bits feels a bit on your skin but, they are very very few and you need that much for exfoliation.

Because of the winter, the oil is saturated and hence you cannot fell it much but when you make the paste, you realize the oiliness.

As it has some oil, it will be great for dry skin – very moisturizing. For combination skin, I will say that you wash with lukewarm water to remove all the oil form this. For oily skin, I will not recommend but then, its winter and if you can manage then it’s okay. If you have really oily skin then do not even think of trying.

Price 500 for 100gm

I am using it on alternate days with Lush Aqua Marina. This cleanser does to promise any magic for your skin but just a feel good product. I liked it a lot but nothing amazing. I am not even thinking of stocking more though its limited edition because they last for a very less time (3 months?) and the smell is very sweet and wintery.

I will recommend it only dry skin girls who like warm smells and are in need of a mild exfoliating cleanser. Or you are just a popcorn crazy like me!

  1. it looks sooo yummyyyyyyyyyyy..like the south indian sweet kesari..:)

  2. I was tempted to pick this up the last time i was in LUSH, but it sounds better suited to dry skin rather than my oily skin. Great post :)

  3. I don't think it will suit my skin...seems too greasy.

  4. I so love popcorn too and this post is making me crave for it...

  5. I loveeee popcorn too! :D. But I don't think this will work well for my skin :(

  6. This actually works amazing for oily skin! Keeps my face matte a lot longer than using other cleansers like angels on bare skin :)
