The first time, I tried the new TBS Shea Haircare products; I was tempted to share it with you. I hold myself for more than two weeks because I need to use to more before I share my feeling when I come to skincare and haircare. In fact, in the past two weeks, my feelings have swung a lot and I will tell you why.

Some little birds have told me that my utmost favorite - my Holy Grail sulfate free shampoo - TBS Rainforest Moisture is going out of stock. People from TBS have reassured me that it is a stock issue but I am not sure if I can relax because I am on my last bottle of rainforest shampoo. And Bam! New Shampoo from TBS - an extension of Shea Butter range. Shea Butter is my favorite range from TBS and is Body Shop's initial range.

Let us start with the shampoo. I must say that it passed one of the biggest yardsticks in my shampoo criteria - no itchy scalp. I always get itchy scalp if there are any nasties in the shampoo. The ingredients are not 100% great but it did not cause any issue for me. My scalp is clean after the shampoo and no oil is left behind. The packaging does not says Sulphate free but is low on sulfate. It foams very less. You might end up using more and drying your hair. The best way is to get your hair dripping-wet before you start working with the shampoo. Otherwise, you might feel that your hair is just eating up the shampoo. It is loaded with shea but if you keep it on your head for long then it might feel drying. Not as moisturizing as TBS rainforest. I never used conditioner with rainforest (occasional ACV rinse) but I felt that my hair needed a little bit of conditioner after this. Best results come with the second rinse. In short, dilute the shampoo, wet your hair, otherwise, you might use more than needed and end up with dry hair. Period.

Next conditioner. I must say it felt weird to use a conditioner after this long. What do you do while you wait for the conditioner to set in? I am genuinely interested to know. I have end up using up my body scrubs to make efficient use of the time. The conditioner is light and silicone free. It does have shea butter and coconut oil for moisture. I use a little amount and it spreads very easily. You can try this conditioner if you use conditioners in general and wish to opt for a silicone free one.

Last and my favorite - The Body Shop Shea Butter Hair Mask. Feels like light whipped butter, spreads easily on hair, boosts up moisture, reduces fizziness because of dryness, washes off easily leaving behind smooth and glossier hair. The top ingredients are Water, Shea butter, Glycerin, coconut oil, olive oil, and coconut butter. Not the cleanest hair mask there is there in the market but I am happy with the result. We all know that nothing that works better than oil massage but this is a good option when your hair feels dull and you need to give it a boast. In fact, I will recommend that you get the hair mask and skip the conditioner - better ingredients. Take a pea size amount of the mask and dilute it up for using it as a conditioner.

Overall: They are good but still not the perfection I expect from The Body Shop. This shampoo is at least free of SLS/SLES unlike their other shampoos and does not give me itchy scalp. The Shea shampoo is definitely not TBS rainforest. But, if push comes to shove and rainforest is not available then I will reach for this shampoo because it is still far far better than the other shampoos in recent times. The conditioner also does the job without weighing down the hair. The one product that get my 100% attention and will get repurchased is the hair mask. I also enjoyed using it after I applied henna on my hair.
