Juicy Chemistry Organic BLACK RICE & Bulgarian Lavender Mask/Cleanser Review

Mar 19, 2019

The one thing that I am programmed to believe since childhood that face masks are the key to good skin. I am still following this rule because they indeed are. And so much fun too! So, when I spot a 100% natural origin face mask with interesting ingredients, I cannot say no.

Price: Rs 450 for 25 grams (Bit on the expensive side)

Ingredients: 98.11 % Of the total ingredients are from organic farming. 100% natural origin.

*Ingredient from Organic Farming

Texture: Mildly coarse powder.

Packaging: Plastic tub with a screw-on lid.

Usage: It is marketed as a mask but it does not stick to skin. It was impossible to put a layer of this. The mixture will just fall off as soon as I apply it. I tried with rose water and also with Aloe Vera juice. When I checked the packaging, I found that it is supposed to be used as a powder cleanser - mix with water, massage on face gently, and wash off. A very little amount is needed. If you use more, it will just fall off and make your skin dirty. Waste of product and added job of cleaning your sink. Even while massaging with one hand, I keep another below to catch the fall off. Yes, it is a bit of a hassle.

Effects: As mentioned, it does not work as a face mask because I cannot make it stick to my skin. But, as a cleanser, it does a great job. It is mildly exfoliating. It also gives a slight cooling effect right after use (because it has peppermint oil). I like using it at night. The mild exfoliation removes dead skin and hence, the night oil is absorbed better. My skin feels lighters and plumpy in the morning.

Overall: Definitely not a mask. Give it a go if you are looking for a powder cleanser. If you have never used powder cleanser, then let me warn you that they will leave a mess in the sink. Also, powder cleanser are not very travel appropriate. Not for dry skin. Even for normal skin it can be slightly drying during dry weather. I am looking forward to using this during summers. I like it and do not find any issues other than the ones I expected. But, I do not think it is repurchase worthy as well.
