TGI Friday's Born in the USA // The Boss Platter and More
|TGI Fridays New Menu India|
TGI Friday’s recently launched their new menu #BornInTheUSA, and they invited me to try it. I have been to the TGI Fridays in Kolkata earlier. I went with my cousin and truth be told, it was one horrible experience. We had randomly tried food from the menu and found nothing memorable. So, this time I was skeptical about it. I also tagged along my cousin to judge it things had done in a better direction over the last year.
We there on Thursday and Mr. Roy seated us. I choose the place to get the best light for the pictures. He guided us through Born in the USA menu which has four mammothian platters to be shared between 2-4 people. He also informed that they have a newer promotion with five more dishes. So, with his suggestions, we decided my picks from both the menus.
We started with the TGI Friday’s famous Long Island Ice Tea. I chose the Ultimate Blueberry Pomegranate variant which was fruity and refreshing.

Then arrived THE platter. The Boss Platter. It has barbecue full rack pork ribs, and my cousin appreciated it at every bite he took. The meat was perfectly cooked. I cannot comment because I do not eat pork. But, I found something in the platter that impressed my taste buds - Blackened Chimichurri Chicken. I even finished the chimichurri dip. Also, the Cajun onion rings were they best I have tried in recent times. The New Orleans corn cobs were soft and buttery. The garlic bread had less garlic than I am used to.

Next was something that turned out to be a surprise. Mr. Roy has already warned us that blue cheese is not something everyone likes, but we went for the Franks Blue Cheese Chicken Burger. Interestingly, the star of the plate turned out to be the Franks Red Hot sauce which I relished with the fries and the grilled but juicy chicken.

Last food item of the night won my heart – Roasted Cayenne Pepper Chicken. The chicken was evenly cooked from skin to bone and packed with flavors. The dish was accompanied with fried and chunky tangy and hot salsa dip. I hope I had more space left in my belly to finish it up. I hope it makes its way to the main menu.

I wanted to try their famous Whisky cake but it was getting late, and it is on the permanent menu so, we skipped it for now. But, I have a weakness for cheesecakes so, had to try their Blueberry Cheesecake Shake. Even when my stomach was full, I enjoyed every sip the cheesecake in a glass.

If you are planning a visit to TGI Friday's, then no time is better than now as they have not one but two campaigns going on. Do take your friends and family with you as the portion size are huge. Also, take time in hand. I wish I had reached earlier and had time for the
Also, if you are going to Elgin Road, Kolkata then ask for Mr. Roy. He knows the menu well, and we loved everything he suggested.
