Bali Haul (Featuring Local Brands of Bali, Indonesia and More)

Face Shop Hand Cream

You know my love for local and natural products. So, I searched for them before I went to Bali. I talked to few Indonesian bloggers who were extremely helpful and guided me. Instagram also helped me find some local brands in Bali. I also wanted to pick things that I had not spotted in Kuala Lumpur Airport and those which are not available here in India.

So, without taking much of your time, here is what I picked. I will do a separate post for few of the local brands later.

FabBag August 2016 || The What The Chic

FabBag August 2016 || The What The Chic

One great thing that comes with staying away from home for long is the bulk of packages you get to open. I am probably the last of to talk about the FabBag this August. But, I could not skip on it as the box is just perfect.

Keeping in line with the rubbery material used in their Lip Bag (its soft so, I took it with me to Bali to keep headphones, USB cords, etc. ), this is a pink bobby printed which is cute and glam.

Now, let dig in

Shopping at Kuala Lumpur Airport (KLIA2 Haul Feat. MAC, Origins, Kiehl's, Etc)

Shopping at Kuala Lumpur Airport (KLIA2 Haul Feat. MAC, Origins, Kiehl's, Etc)
Shopping at Kuala Lumpur Airport (KLIA2 Haul Feat. MAC, Origins, Kiehl's, Etc)

I had a 12 hours layover at Kuala Lumpur Airport. No, this is not a joke. And yes, I survived. If you need a guide on how to survive KLIA2, then I can help :D And maybe a post on AirAsia? :P

Anyways, one of the thing that I had to do was to shop. First, I went to the various shops only to realize that most stores were not giving the best of the deals. I wanted to try Origins. So, I entered Zon, The people at Zon were extremely friendly and allowed me to try the masks on my face. While I liked them, something was not feeling right. Like when you are aware where the jigsaw pieces fit, but the final picture does not look as it should. So, I called my dear friend, Rini (the one who suggested going to Colaba) because I was aware that she had tried Origins. She mentioned that she had not got much benefit from Origins which made me step away from the store.

Was it actually happening? When I wanted to shop the most, I could not find anything?

Cheap and Effective Organic Kumkumadi Herbal Face Oil

Budget Cheapest and Effective Kumkumadi Herbal Face Oil
Budget/Cheapest Kumkumadi Thailam by Khandige

I might sound like a broken record but I love face oils, and I cannot live without them. As you know, I am always trying to get my hands on different and new options to cater to everyone's needs. A month back, I purchased this on the shelf of Rainbow Organics (my favorite organic store in Kolkata).

What is unique about this Khandige Kumkumadi Taila? We know that good facial oils are expensive, and the brands are always hiking the price. But, this 50ml bottle costs just Rs 375. You might think that it just a simple oil with no special ingredients. But, do the let the simple packaging deceive you. Not only is Khandige Herbal Beauty Oil free of artificial flavors, free of chemical preservatives, free of pesticides; the ingredients are certified organic.

Too good to be true? Even I thought so. That is the reason I didn't purchase it when I saw for the first time around 5-6 months back. But, this time, I got it with me. I brought it along as I was travelling for office work to a place near Mumbai.

Acne-Free Skin with La Roche-Posay

Acne-Free Skin with La Roche-Posay
La Roche Posay Effaclar Foaming Gel, Micro-Exfoliating Astringent Lotion, Effaclar Duo,
Effaclar K, Cicaplast Baume B5, Thermal Spring Water

It happens only at times that I develop an immense love for a skincare brand. The same happened with La Roche Posay. So, I got as many products from the brand that my hands could grab. Now, I have reached the point when I even need those products which are not retailed in India : P

Last month, was the worst for my skin and hair. All the after effects of ill health bombarded all together. I had numerous whiteheads and acne on my forehead and cheeks. They were not even in the mood of leaving, and several would come up every new day. La Roche Posay astringent and Effclar Duo is what I use to get rid of skin troubles. This time, I tried few other products as well. Here, is a summed up review of all my favorite La Roche Posay products.

(BTW, my health is not 100% perfect and the doctor has said that it will take months. I still facing intense hair fall issue).

An office colleague of mine wore a beautiful pink on her toes, and I was smitten. I always wear dark colors on toes. I could not think of the last time I got light colors for feet. When I went to Mumbai, I made sure to pick a beautiful baby pink. After a lot of searching, I went to Colorbar. I always love their nail polish options, and that has been the case for years.

Day Out Shopping at Colaba Causeway, Mumbai

Colaba Causeway, Mumbai

On SaturdayI reached Mumbai around lunch time. Weather God was showering his blessing with a breezy but sun lit sky. With hungry creatures growling in my belly, I had to decide where to go. I was staying in Mumbai Central. But, I had no idea that I was close to the best part of the city. I called my friend, Rini for suggestions. She recommended Colaba. She also added – "Do not miss the Cafes. Do go to Theobrama." As I have never been there and the food options sounded good, I went to explore.

Thanks, Mumbai (and YOU)

Picks from Vero Moda, Forever 21, and Splash from Viviana Mall, Thane

I am guilty, and you can scold me for that. I am genuinely sorry for not writing for several days (I do not even want to go back and check the last day I wrote any blog post and feel more guilty). I would start writing about something and would stop in between. Don't know why. Maybe I needed a change. So, in this long weekend, I decided to do a quick trip to Mumbai. I wanted to meet few people but couldn't. I should have planned everything earlier. Anyways, I had a great time meeting few people there. Also, I am all refreshed and recharged now. Mumbai has done that for me earlier as well. It reminded me why I blog.
