Just Herbs JAVAKUSUM Prewash Deep Conditioning Hair Oil || No Mineral Oil, No Parabens
My hibiscus obsessed brain cannot have enough hibiscus for hair care. I am serious. Google and you won't find many good products with the miraculous ingredients. Even when there are few products, they are all filled with other ingredients that I keep my distance from (Read: sulfates, silicones, mineral oil...you get the picture here)
I finally found this oil from Just Herbs. It's seemed like a good choice because my favorite choice of hair oil - coconut oil - freezes during winter (Oh Nature! Why? Why so cruel?) This is not a new product but they did revamp the whole packaging for this one.
Price: Rs 445 for 100ml
Price: Rs 445 for 100ml
Ingredients: It came as a surprise to me that it contains only 1.43% hibiscus extracts. Other ingredients are Amla (Indian Gooseberry) extract 1.6%, and Heena 3.2%. All organic. For base oil, it has certified organic cold pressed sesame oil, castor oil, and coconut oil. Other that the low amount of extracts, there is nothing to complain. All good ingredients. Plus, hats off to mentioning complete ingredients list when other brands do not even care.
Fragrance: Strong herbal. (Because natural products hardly ever smell good)
Texture: When you see castor and sesame, you expect a sticky and thick oil. On the contrary, it is very light. I have no idea how Just Herbs made it possible. It is very light.
Packaging: Plastic bottle with plastic stopper and metal screw-in cap. Also, comes with an additional blocker. You won't have to make holes. The oil comes out easily. It is easier to control the amount that comes out.
Efficacy: I have used 4-5 times as overall hair mask and several times as hair serum on my ends. I am kind of rushing into the review because neither it makes it claims for hair regrowth nor I think it would make a big difference. But, it does make hair soft. Being light, it washes off easily. As it a mix of oil, it does not freeze. It is a good break from the usual coconut oil that I depend on year round. I faced no itchiness or irritation on the scalp when I used it. For hair serum, I use just a drop. As it is light, it spreads easily.
Overall: A lovely haircare product with natural organic ingredients. They proudly mention on the packaging - no mineral oil and no parabens. Thumbs up to that. A good break from the usual oils. Do check if out if you looking for a light hair oil with good organic ingredients. It will nourish and rejuvenate your hair as it has coconut oil, sesame oil, and castor oil. I do not think keeping very high expectations from this oil is right.
