Lakme Just Gave Us MAC Miley Cyrus Lipstick Dupe?

Recently, Lakme introduced 20 new colors to their Erich lipstick collection. These colors are matte, but I won't say they are 100% matte (more on that later in the post). I was sent four colors to try. My first reaction when I saw the colors were - I think I already have something like this.

In general, it is bad because who wants a copy of the products they already own. In the blogging world, it opens the door that on other days we knock on forever - Dupes.

I give away most of my lipsticks when I feel that I am not wearing them much but still I found that the colors were similar to the expensive ones in the market. But, the shocking discovery was the similarity when one limited edition MAC lipstick.

I could not trust my eyes so; I did what every sensible person would do - ask others for opinions. Hence, I put the following debate up on Instagram.

And the answer to all your questions. The right one is Lakme PM11, and the left one is MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus Lipstick.  Yes, we have a MAC Viva Glam Miley Cirus dupe! Your opinion? I find it a great discovery because
  • Lakme is available everywhere, and MAC is not making Miley Cirus anymore.
  • Lakme Enrich costs Rs 295, and MAC charged me around Rs 1600. Was it more? Maybe! I do not remember. As far as it goes, MAC products are at times is priced more for limited editions and fancy packaging.

About Lakme Enrich Lipstick: At Rs 295, they are the budget lipsticks in Lakme. But, do one forget that these were the only ones available from Lakme when we were growing up. Long before they got the Absolute range. In the start of 2015, Lakme decided to change a lot of things about them. More on that in my previous Lakme Enrich post. Recently, they added more colors to it.

Texture: Creamy matte. The colors are free of shimmers (the ones I have seen. I may have missed few shades). The bullets are soft. They do sweat and get softer when humidity is high. I even broke the bullet of one of the lipsticks. Does not feel heavy on lips nor does it dries. Overall, it is comfortable.

Fragrance: Same old fruity as they had forever. No change in this department. I am not a fan of this.

Lakme Enrich PM11 is without a doubt the best color of the lot. It is a bright fuschia that will suit Indian skin tones without looking over the top. It brightens my skin color. Above all, it the dupe of MAC Miley Cyrus. Who can complain?

Lakme Enrich OM10 is the burnt orange that I crave for all the time. I love how this looks on my skin. This one is the most pigmented of all and leaves behind a stain even after it fades away. Below is the swatch comparing it with two of my other favorite burnt oranges Bobbi Brown Valencia Orange and Faces Really Rust.
