The Body Shop CHANGE Hemp Hand Protector || Limited Edition
The Body Shop is known for its support to local community trade and cruelty-free products. Among the famous is the Hemp Oil. In their new campaign 'Enrich, Not Exploit', The Body Shop has introduced a new limited edition packaging of the Hemp Hand Protector. It is designed by renowned street artist EINE. For every Limited Edition Hemp Hand Protector purchased, £1.50 will be donated to protect and enrich the planet, the oceans or animals, and people.
The limited edition packaging is also available for its Almond Hand Cream.
Price: Rs 850 for 100ml. This comes cheaper because the 30ml hand creams are for Rs 425. I am not sure if the limited edition 'Change' hand cream is available in 30ml option.
What is so special about The Body Shop Hemp? Frankly speaking, I was not aware of them. The only thing that I have purchased earlier from the Hemp range is the foot protector which my Mom uses and likes. So, when I learned more about them, I was impressed.
From The Body Shop website - Hemp is one of the oldest crops in the world, cultivated in Europe and Asia for food, oil and for medicinal purposes. Although our Community Trade hemp is the same species that is used to produce cannabis, we use the non-psychoactive variety of hemp called Finola, which produces a beautifully rich hydrating oil. Because the crop could be mistaken for the illegal variety of hemp, we have to keep our supplier’s location and identity top secret. However, we can tell you that our farmers carefully nurture their hemp crops in a uniquely beautiful and confidential location in the UK. Four times more effective at capturing CO2 than trees, the hemp we grow supports local biodiversity.
Ingredients: Aqua, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Myristyl Myristate, Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil, Ricinus Communis Seed Oil, Dimethicone, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Cera Alba, Panthenol, Methyl Soyate, Phenoxyethanol, Parfum, Sodium Benzoate, Allantoin, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Xanthan Gum, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Retinyl Palmitate, Copernicia Cerifera Cera, Disodium EDTA, Tocopherol, Talc, CI 77288, CI 77492, CI 77491, CI 77499.
Texture: Super thick cream.
Fragrance: Herbal green smell. Some might not like it. Not as fresh as TBS absinthe hand cream but I find it better than almond hand cream.
Packaging: Metal tube with plastic cap. Not a big fan.
Effect: I could not have got this in a better timing. My skin is used to the high humidity of Kolkata but the dry weather of Ahmedabad is different for it. On top of that, I am spending all my time in dry AC. My hands and feet would feel dry even when I applied oil in the morning. I was in two minds to use something with silicone but one learns to make a virtue out of necessity.
The cream takes some time to absorb. After that, my hand feels smooth and then, there is no drying for the rest of the day (until I wash my hands). I even use it for my feet. I felt it would be big to carry in my office bag every day but now, this is a new addition to my handbag. This came as a savior.

Overall - I love TBS change hemp hand cream. Highly moisturizing but it does takes few moments to sink in. I loved the attention-grabbing packaging. Also, the 'limited edition' tag makes it even more attractive.
