La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL SPF 50+ Sunscreen Dry Touch Gel-Creme Anti-Shine

Now, La Roche-Posay is synonymous with good skin. So, last year when I saw them in GNC pharmacy in Delhi, I could not stop myself. I had to stock up my favorites and try something new (though I already had just splurged in Sephora the previous day. One such gem (that I picked up) is La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL SPF 50+ Sunscreen Dry Touch Gel-Creme Anti-Shine. Not only it is the sunscreen with the longest name (among the ones I have tried), it is one of the best.

Price - Rs 1250 for 50ml (High compared to drugstore ones but more international brands are retailed in this range)

Texture - The packaging saying it is gel-crème. But, it is quick drying opaque white cream.

Fragrance – Fragrance-free

Packaging – Plastic tube with sturdy flip top packaging. The cap does not come off. The tube is spill proof and travel-friendly.

How to apply – As the cream dries before you can blink, I apply it in small batches – face & neck, left arm, right arm, and finally feet. Even though it is not visible while applying, I blend it a little. If not blended, the sunscreen dries with white casts. Also, if you use too much, be ready to see white casts.

Efficacy – My encounter with Sun is usually not much - while on my way to my office and at times in office (if I decide to sit beside the glass window). So, I was okay with this while I used it during this winter. But, the real test happened last week. In Nagpur, I was spending most of my day under the sun (read: direct sunlight). Only then I realized what a gem this was – no tanning, no burning, no sweating, no peeling and no redness. Could I even ask for more? Especially when I have sensitive skin then turns red even in winter! Where was this sunscreen all this time?

Verdict – A great sunscreen if you have sensitive skin and need a special sunscreen to save yourself from tanning and burning. La Roche-Posay is a French pharmacy brand, and you can be assured of the quality provided. It is easily available at online stores.

PS: When I am in Delhi, I end up splurging a lot. Blame the immense number of brands within reach. I do not think much because what I don’t buy - haunts me. So, I do not think much there. But, now that this is about to get over, I thought if I should repurchase or not. After the last week’s outstanding performance, I think I should do. I will be in Delhi next month, and I might pick it up again (unless I get something even more exciting). As of now, I have one from Clarins to test. #LifeOfBeautyBlogger
