The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous CLEANSING BUTTER Review
|The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter Review|
One fun thing about a blogger’s life is the phases that we go through. For example in the case of makeup remover, bi-phase removers was a significant evolution over the basic creamy ones. I cannot even recall what I used to use before them! I went really big on bi-phase removers. Then I discovered oils, and I still love using them as makeup removes. But, something else was making its presence – Cleansing Balms. I was trying to keep my hands off it because the ones in the Indian market are priced too high compared to the alternative removing techniques that I use. Finally, I gave up my resistance and got The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter simply because they had a Buy 4, 20% off offer. Trust me, they are quite luring. But, I do not repent my decision.
Texture – It is a waxy white balm that is smooth and instantly turns to thick transparent oil when rubbed with fingers.
Price – Rs 1095 for 90ml
Effectiveness – It removes every makeup just like oils does. It removes waterproof mascara to all day foundations without any harsh effects to skin. Consider this solidified oil so; there won’t be troubles in traveling. One major con of oils is it is tough to carry them while traveling. There is always a fear of leak and spillage. TBS Camomile cleansing butter solves it all. While applying, turn it into liquid before you apply near eyes. If it a bit waxy then it might burn your eyes – nothing serious but why irritate your eyes?
Packaging – Old school flat tin tub with screw-on lids. I already made a dent on that tin lid. Obviously, this packaging is unhygienic but, how else could they have packed a solid wax? I take out all that I need in first go and then rub it on my fingers to remove eyes makes and apply the rest on my cheek and forehead. The rubbing turns it to liquid.
Fragrance – Light flowery fragrance which you will notice only if you sniff it from the tub.
- Removes everything kind of makeup easily in one go
- Does not irritates skin or burn eyes (in liquid form)
- Easy to travel with
- Lesser quantity is needed. Half of a tea spoon is enough to remove everyday makeup.
- Paraben free.
- Expensive. But, the other option is Clinique, and that is priced higher than this.
- Tub packing but there is no other way to pack it.
Overall – This is my new go to favorite for travel purpose. I do not have to worry at all about the spilling as in oil. It is not at all harsh on skin and removes makeup in one go. I have already hit the pan. The only issue is the price is high. Yes, you need very little. It is required in lesser amount compared than oil, but I cannot afford to purchase it back to back. So, will ration its use and hence, I will not use it every day and keep it for the travels only. For every day, I will stick with my forever favorite oil cleansers.
Have you tried cleansing balms? What are your thoughts? Know any brands other than TBS and Clinique that does excellent cleansing balm? Do share…
