Just Herbs is one of those natural skincare brands on whom I have faith. They use great ingredients, comply with international standards and yet affordable. They have worked for my skin well. Few months back, Just Herbs asked me to provide them feedback on a product that was yet to launched in the market. (And they told me to keep it a secret so, I was not sure when I will be able to publish the review.) The newly created Elixir contained Indian Ginseng. They created this for a professional salon but ended up loving it so much that they started to think of retailing the same. They obviously got a BIG YES from me.
Packaging – Glass packaging with a dropper.
Price – Rs 985 for 15ml.
Fragrance – Has an undetectable herbal smell. Contains no added fragrance.
Texture – The very first question that I asked them was – Is oil or cream based? I am avoiding the use of creams for almost a year now (except sunscreen) and rely on facial oils. I was not ready to go back to creams. But, this is neither oil based nor cream based. Just Herbs Elixir is water based. It consists of a base of aloe juice with blends of essential oil and potent ingredients in a colloidal form. I use one or two drops using the dropper, and my skin absorbs it in seconds. There is not need to massage or blend. The elixir is light and feels fresh. There is no sticky or thick feeling. Those with oily skin who do not use facial oils afraid that oils will make it worse (it is a myth! pure natural oils close to chemical nature of skin’s sebum is good) can use it without worries.
My Experience – I started using it when my skin was at its worst. And trust me when I say that. Around a week before the wedding and a week after that, I lost my appetite completely. On top of that, I was not even able to take care of my skin properly that time. I followed no skincare routine. My skin looked aged, burned, tiny acne on forehead and tanned. I scanned through my stash and thought of starting this after prepping my skin with La Roche-Posay Effaclar Astringent. I could see the difference from day 1. First of all, this is light, and you can apply it real quick. Dries in moments and does not feel sticky. I felt that the astringent might be doing its magic. For the following week, I used Just Herbs Pomegranate Mandarin Pore Refining Tonique (to be launched for retail soon), but, washed it off before applying the serum to check the potential of the product. (I no longer wash it off). My acne disappeared real quick. Only two tiny ones emerged during those days of the month, but those also went away with two days. My skin is getting its glow back. My skin looks dewy and watery when I wake up. I can feel it is going smooth again. Some dark marks on cheeks have lightened but have not disappeared altogether. Maybe they will take little more time to go away.
Where to Buy – This is still to be launched by Just Herbs. But, FabBag box had the Just Herbs Elixir this month. Interestingly, the packaging and the texture of the product provided in FabBag looks different, but the ingredients list is the same. The one that is sent by FabBag will be the one which will be retailed.
Overall – Just Herbs Rejuvenating Elixir checks all the boxes. The last time I was this happy with any skincare product was when I tried Kama Ayurveda Kumkumadi Thailam. (I used three of those back to back but now they have hiked their prices.) In a month, I saw several good changes in my skin, and I am amazed. Recommend buying this. And better to get the FabBag September Edition because you get this with another of my skincare favorite (totaling amount Rs 1250) for just Rs 599.
