Maybelline Clean Express Total Clean

NEW Maybelline Clean Express Total Clean! Eye and Lip Makeup Remover Review

It is new! It is cute! And it is finally in India!

The Maybelline Clean Express is not new but this the first time we can buy it in India.

Wipe Test - Let's see how it works

(The scary face is wearing - Eyes - Maybelline Colossal Kajal, Maybelline Hypercurl Mascara, The Body Shop Color Crush 510 Something Blue Eye Shadow. Nose - Revlon ShamelessCheeks - Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush in Rose with a bit of The Body Shop Color Crush Berry Cherry Blush. Lips - Upper Lip is YSL Rouge Volupte 11 and Lower Lip is MAC Riri Woo.

I am not using any BB cream or foundation because it explicitly says - eye and lip makeup remover.)

Will it be able to remove it all? Let's see.

After the first swipe, only the kajal and mascara survived whereas you can just see a bit of the lip colors and nose (a lip color). But, after wiping 3-4 times, nothing is left. #ThenThereWereNone

So, full marks for working the way it should. (It does take a little longer to wipe out mascara though)

Sensitivity - I faced no irritation or redness when I used it for eyes.

Texture - The previous bi-phase makeup remover was complained by several for being oily. This Clean Express one seems lighter than that and does not leave behind any oil after being wiped off by cotton.

Version - This is made in China and I think is the Asian version. (The US version looks a lot different, and there are four products - facial towelettes, flash clean cleansing lotion, class eye makeup remover and waterproof eye makeup remover.)

Price in India - Rs 275 for 70ml. The price is higher than the previous version. In fact, this comes down to be costlier than the L'Oreal Gentle Bi-Phase makeup remover. See this post for the comparison.

Overall - It does what it is supposed to do without any issue. The bottle is cute. They are available online as well as in stores. Whom am I to complain?

But, the price does hurt a little bit considering their previous makeup remover is cheaper than this. I might go back to the previous version (unless Maybelline launch some other Clean Express variant or the production of the previous one stops)...or I will continue with coconut oil (see my skincare routine)
