Current Night Time SKINCARE ROUTINE // Acne Prone Combination-Oily Skin
I am always amused when people ask about my skincare, hair care and even nail care routine.
Yes, my routine has changed a I did a skincare routine post last time. I use far less products now. My routine is pretty simple. Anyways, even I wanted to show you my skincare routine but then I hardly do anything in morning. So, here is my night time skincare routine.
The Superhero Cleanser – Cetaphil Cleansing Lotion for Sensitive Skin
I used it right after I come home. This is basically a solution of Cetyl alcohol and Strearyl alcohol in cream base. This is my panacea of all skin troubles.
Skin irritation after a day under Sun? Apply Cetaphil like face mask.
Tiny bumps coz of the new thing I tired? Apply Cetaphil like face mask.
New pimple trying to grow? Apply Cetaphil like face mask.
T-zone looking oily? Apply Cetaphil and wash off.
Skin looking dull? Apply Cetaphil and wash off.
You get the picture here, right?
Earlier, they had preservatives in the formula but the recent bottle that I picked does not have it. The formula is changed recently with the main ingredients still remaining the same. You can see this the complete review post.
FYI, there is also another formula for oily skin which I was tempted to pick. My friend use it so, I gave it a try at her home. It was too dry for me. I checked the ingredients and found SLS in that one!
The Natural Makeup Remover Duo – Kama Ayurveda Extra Virgin Organic Coconut Oil and Just Herbs Silkplash
After I finished my bi-phase makeup removers, I started using Coconut Oil for removing makeup. Actually I wished to buy an oil makeup remover but everything I discovered had mineral oil. Then, the idea of using Almond oil occurred to me. But, it is quite heavy and I always end up with the oil entering my eyes giving me red and cloudy eyes. Horrible. So, I shifted to coconut oil and I am super doper happy. Now, I do not have to rub my eyes like crazy to remove my waterproof eyeliner, mascara or any other makeup that I am wearing. Just slide your ring fingertip soaked in oil along your eyes and all your makeup is off. I wash it off with water and follow up with a drop of Just Herbs Silksplash to remove the oil that is left behind.
Please note that it might be difficult to use oils without making your eyes hurt for the first few times so, try under shower or keep your eyes closed.
The Oil Fighter aka The Micro Exfoliator aka The Pore Minimizer aka The Avenger – La Roche-Posay Effaclar Astringent Micro-Exfoliant Lotion
The best Rs 1190 I have ever spent on skincare. It fights off oil, exfoliates the skin at micro level, helps minimizing pore size, keeps pimples at bay, dries up growing acne like no body’s business, and makes skin soft and what not! But but but…..I do not use it everyday. When I started using it, I discovered that it is a great product after using it every single day. New pimples were not coming up and there was no oil on my skin. Literally, there was no oil. So, people started asking – Why is your skin looking dull?
So, now, I skip it at times. Think of this like the rest days in Gym schedules.
The Heros and Heroines – Facial Oils
I always think of the Keihl’s MRC like the hot football player that everyone dreams about, TBS Serum as the lady who decided never to have kids (ahem ahem…it maybe coz there is no sample size for this) and Clarins FTO as the pre-teen daughter waiting for her Mom(maybe coz I am thinking of buying the full size)..... and this absolutely makes no sense.
What makes sense is the post I did where I reviewed and compared The Body Shop Overnight Vitamins E Serum in Oil with Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Oil and Clarins Face Treatment Oil – Lotus. You can read the post on comparition of facial oils..
I use each for a week or two and then moved on to the next one for review. But, now, I am mixing and trying this.
So, you can see this is quite simple and quick. Do share your favorite skincare product in comments.
