The Lip Balm # 1 from Kiehl's Review

Jun 12, 2012

Slap me for the number of drafts that I have. I have so many things to share with you guys but then I am hardly getting any time. (And yes, I started to learn swimming today and I realized what I was doing for soo many years!! Its feels so nice to swim float *wink*)

I got this lip balm as a giveaway gift from Ankita’s Blog Corallista. I was not supposed to get this balm but luckily I got this as I always wanted to try this. You can read about my visit here.

Kiehls Lip Balm #1 was mentioned as the favorite lip balm of Katrina in People magazine and it gained a lot of popularity after that. Lucky for me I didn’t had to buy this stuff as it is 495 INR for 15ml which I felt was way too much for something that is almost like a petroleum jelly….in fact a super runny petroleum jelly.

Ingredients:

Sweet – gives an instant relief to chapped lips and doesn’t burn or irritate on lips. Don’t feel too heavy on lips as it is absorbed quickly

Bitter– Too runny. And on top of being runny the mouth of the tub is such that you cannot apply it from tube directly and have to use fingers. It does provides an instant relief but it failed to repair my lips like Burts Bee Lip Balm does.

It itself says - "Temporarily protects" No claims of repairs. So. +1 for not lying on my face

The awkward mouth from which directly applying on lips is bit messy.

The super runny formula - Liquid version of Vaseline Petroleum  Jelly.

Even the hole is a tad bitter for such a runny formula. It must have been smaller.

Should I buy this? No way! Luckily I got it as giveaway gift.

Get it only if there are no other lip balms to be found or you are happy with the points I mentioned in the cons list.

I felt it was nothing but a overpriced liquid version of Vaseline petroleum jelly. Because I am not a lip balm person and when I need to give some love to my lips I reach out to my Burts Bee Balm, I hardly use this.

  2. I'm not sure if I should say this, I never actually read a good review about the Lipbalm. Being a lip product addict, I had made some searches as well, but at last decided to give this a pass
