Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder Unifying Powder Review + Where to Buy

To be frank, I have nothing much to hide in my face. I hardly had pimples while growing up so no marks as well. You might never find me buying a concealer but as other use foundations and powder, I always crave for them just feel more like a lady. This Sunday when I went to Bourjoius counter I saw this little red angel and instantly I felt - Nothing can make me look better than a red compact.

I already adore my Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation which by the way is used only 10% so far, and it has been with me for seven months! I got this in the exact shade as my healthy mix foundation without even swatching it in the store. But when I opened it at home, I felt it was a bit darker. But since I am still tanned, it was perfect for me.

As this is soo pretty and I wanted to share it with you, I took this to the office on Monday and my colleague (yes, the one who tried to make bows on my right hand in the tuxedo nail art) said - Do you even need to use this? There is a long story after that which I will tell in another review.

What the website says about this -

Give your skin a boost of radiance and even out that skin tone!

Its ultra-fine texture is easy to blend, and its feather-light feel will make application easy! - True but I  believe along with the formula the credit for blending should also go to the applicator.

Its slim, compact casing and a large mirror inside is an ideal handbag essential and perfect for touch-ups on the go! - Yes Yes Yes! And that's why I got this!

Available in 4 natural shades suitable for all skin tones. - Maybe an issue to the majority of Indian people for this!

And it’s good for my skin:

· Hypoallergenic formula

· Noncomedogenic

· Dermatologically tested

Enriched with exotic fruit therapy to restore and rebalance the skin:

Yuzu - Anti-shine

Sharon fruit - hydration

For my love of fruits and as I never heard of these two, I googled them and found that along with use in Japanese and Korean cuisines, Yuzu is used in the bath to guard against colds, warm the body, and relax the mind. Sharon, on the other hand, is believed to reduce the risk of developing atherosclerosis heart attacks. I just hope I read about the right Yuzu and Sharon :)

But, when I checked the ingredients list, the fruits are mentioned at the end, so I really doubt what percent of fruit will actually touch my skin when I use it.

Packaging - It was the first thing that excited me. Red slim and lightweight compact with fruits drawn on it! Purrrrrfeect! It has a mirror.

But then you know what? It does not have a puff or brush! Even the Lakme ones which I am sure the first compact most girls use in India also have puff! So I found a solution, I use the one found in the Lakme Pearl perfect one (which BTW caused huge breakouts for me) in this.

Coverage - Light coverage to buildable medium. This is perfect for me as I never actually needed any coverage! It says 10hrs, and it might stay for 6-7 hours for sure if not ten as it didn't fade on my even after 5 hours (and I slept an hour in that). But I could only see Matte and no hydration or radiance.

Below is the swatch on my right cheek. You can enlarge the pic and see the mattness that this provided. I applied it over a bit of moisturizer. The slight dry patches were highlighted due to this. I think it will be great for summers.

For Skin Types - Dry(not super dry) and normal skin. Might be good for oily but then do try it once as it gives a very light coverage so it might loose the mattifying effect. As it contains Kaolin as a major ingredient, you can expect such results.

Smells Like a citrus fruit, but that doesn't stay for long.

The Sweet

1. Sleek & Compact pack with a mirror
2. Easy to apply with a puff.
3. Hypoallergenic formula
4. Non-comedogenic
5. Dermatologically tested
6. Light coverage and so good for daily use.
7. Good Stay for dry, normal skin
8. Gives a matte finish with no dry patches ( I have dry skin, and so the dry patches were highlighted)

The Bitter

1. No puff! But I solved that issue.
2. Only four shades are available so finding THE ONE might be an issue.
3. You may not like the light coverage if you have blemishes or prefer a heavier coverage!
4. You might want a dewy look for spring, and this is not for that.

Price - 575 INR for nine gms.

Where to Buy - I could not find it in any online store. I got mine from the Lifestyle store in GIP, Noida. You can trust that place for all new Bourjois launches. There is also another nice one in Lifestyle Gurgaon (the one near the MG Metro Station). I got my Healthy mix and Lilas D'or from there.
